“...He has filled the hungry with good things...” - Luke 1:53

He has filled the empty with good things.

Continuing with the metaphor of crows removing ticks from kangaroos, that I referenced in my last two posts, when the ticks are torn from the kangaroos, they leave a bald spot where fur used to be, as is seen in the video above. This is a good thing, this emptiness. They have no choice but to leave it empty and wait for the fur to grow back. When our ticks are removed, leaving us empty, we have a choice as to whether or not we allow the emptiness to remain for Jesus to fill or we choose to fill it on our own.

From a distance, the ticks engorged and feeding closely together can look like one big tick or one big tumor that needs to be removed. The crow sees the individual ticks making up the mass and picks them away individually. Jesus sees all the different ticks that are part of the big tumor or mess in our lives. He pulls away at it bit by bit if we allow Him to.
