Make Known His Power

Psalm 106 "...at the Red Sea defied the Most High. Yet he saved them for the sake of his name, in order to make known his power..."
He loves me as much as He loves His Son. He loves me as much as He loves Jeffrey Dahmer. He loves the Jews as much as those who worship Moloch. He chose the Jews for His own sake and for theirs, and so He chose me for His own sake and for mine. He wants to save all and so chooses to work through us to bring others to Him. We are not better than anyone else. We are not more loved. We have no reason to feel superior or prideful. He does what He does for us because He chooses to do so freely, not because we deserve His choosing.
Our being chosen brings with it great responsibility. To those to whom much is given, much is expected. Being called and given the grace to respond is a tremendous gift with tremendous responsibilities.
He has freed me from the emptiness of the gay lifestyle. He has freed me from addiction to weed. He has freed me from loneliness. He has done this out of love for me and love for others. To keep this freedom from others is shirking my responsibility. I am to share this freedom with others. It is up to them to decide whether to accept or decline.
"...So they defiled themselves by their deeds and broke their marriage bond with the Lord
till his anger blazed against his people; He was filled with horror at his chosen ones..."
I defile myself by keeping the good cleansing waters that flow into me from Jesus to myself. I become the Dead Sea. The sight and smell of these contaminated waters fill the Lord with horror. His fatherly anger, born from sadness, blazes up. Why would you keep My words from others? Why would you keep My truth from your coworkers and clients who may never hear it anywhere else? Why would you keep Me inside you from your brothers and sisters? Through you may be the only way they will ever meet Me. Don't keep Me from them.
From the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy of the Second Vatican Council, "...the instrument of our salvation...As Christ was sent by the Father, so in His turn He sent the Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit. They were sent to preach the Gospel to every creature, proclaiming that we had been set free from the power of Satan and from death by the death and resurrection of God’s Son..."
I am a chosen instrument of salvation for those who have been given the eyes and ears to see and hear what Jesus has done for me. I am to do my best to free slaves as He sent the disciples to do.
"...by giving thanks to God for the inexpressible gift he has given in Christ Jesus, to the praise of God’s glory..."
I give thanks through my willingness to suffer for Him. To bring others to Him when possible and when not, to at least be His bright light in a darkened world.
Help us, Lord, to be the Sea of Galilee, allowing your saving waters to flow through us to all the thirsty.
Help us to put on the new man.
